My curtain poles were close to the shutters, so I was unable to open my shutters fully. After a day I had decided a wanted my curtain pole moved. Messaged Barry and they were moved in a few day, again without any problems. I am now hoping to have the thermal blinds at the back of my house. Dedicated blinds for Velux skylight apertures
About Velux
Velux is the global standard for roof windows. Their blind range is engineered specifically for the Velux apertures, which means the blind fits the frame precisely without the gaps and light leak that come from generic skylight blinds. Each model is sized to the standard Velux codes (CK04, MK06, etc.) so we can identify the right blind from your existing window labels.
Choose from a range of models depending on what you want from the blind. DKL is the standard blackout option. RFL is the pleated sheer for filtered light. MHL is the external awning that blocks heat before it enters the room. SSL is the roller shutter for full external blackout and security.
Velux blinds are also available motorised (model suffix EW or SK) for skylights that are out of comfortable reach. Solar-powered options use a small panel mounted on the frame, so there is no wiring required.
Blackout, sheer, awning, energy and roller shutter
The Velux Blind Range
DKL Blackout. Standard internal blackout blind. Pleated fabric runs in side channels for proper darkness. The most popular Velux blind for bedrooms.
RFL Sheer. Pleated translucent fabric for filtered daylight. Suits living rooms and home offices.
DFD Duo Blackout. Combines a blackout blind and a pleated sheer in one unit, so you can switch between full darkness and filtered light.
MHL Awning. External awning that blocks solar heat before it reaches the glass. Works with the standard Velux blinds for full thermal control.
SSL Roller Shutter. External roller shutter for full external blackout, security and storm protection.
FHL Energy. Energy-saving blind with reflective coating. Cuts heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.
OUR PRODUCTS
Our Complete Made to Measure Blinds
Every blind we supply is made to measure in Kent, manufactured in British workshops, and installed by our own fitters rather than subcontractors. Our ranges are child safe as standard, available in hundreds of fabric and colour combinations, and can be motorised for skylights, loft rooms, or whole house smart home integration.
Loft bedrooms, conversions, kitchens, bathrooms with skylights
Best Uses For Velux Blinds
Loft bedrooms. DKL blackout is the standard fit. Solar-powered EW versions work well for skylights you can’t reach by hand.
Loft conversions. Multi-skylight loft rooms benefit from grouped motorised control across all the apertures.
Kitchens with skylights. RFL sheer for filtered daytime light. The pleated fabric resists steam and minor splashes.
Bathrooms with skylights. Performance fabric in DKL or RFL handles humidity. Side channels stop fabric flapping during ventilation.
Three simple steps
Our Process
Our process is designed around genuine advice and careful craftsmanship, from the first call to the moment your blinds are fitted.
Free home survey and same-day quote
Barry, our founder, visits your home, measures every window and brings a full sample kit so you can compare fabrics and finishes in your own light. Surveys take 10 to 20 minutes. You receive a written quote by email the same day. No obligation.
UK manufacturing
Once you confirm the order, the blinds are made to the exact dimensions captured at survey by our British workshop partners. UK manufacture means short lead times and tight quality control.
Carpenter-led fitting
We install the blinds in a single visit. Brackets are levelled, mechanisms are tested, and we tidy up before leaving. A five-year manufacturer warranty plus a two-year fitting warranty come as standard.
